SEE ALL SHIPYARDS REPRESENTED BY ENMAN & ASSOCIATES, INC. WORLDWIDE!
Established in 1961, Detyens Shipyards, Inc., is privately-owned and offers a wide range of commercial ship repair and conversion services at its two facilities in Charleston, South Carolina. The main facility is located on the Cooper River at the site of the former Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Detyens has benefited from its strategic location along the U.S. Southeastern coast and the opening of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge in 2005. The bridge connects Charleston to Mount Pleasant and has an air draft of 186 feet - 40 feet higher than the older spans.
Detyens offers three graving docks, able to dock ships up to 229 meters, and wet berthing facilities up to 350 meters. The yard is supported by 10 (56 Ton) rail cranes, 2 (100 Ton) floating cranes, 7,000 feet of pier space, expansive machine shop, hull department, galley and berthing facilities with accomodations for 260 contractors, superintendents, and surveyors.
Detyens Shipyards, Inc, in Charleston, South Carolina most recently accomplished a major top side refurbishment on the Carnival Fascination. DSI had the ship for 17 days.
Celebrity Cruise Lines’ Zenith docked at the Charleston, South Carolina facility from October 24, 2005 thru November 3, 2005.
