Castine, Maine, March 26, 2007: Seacoast Electronics, Inc. has been awarded a fixed price contract from the United States Department of Transportations Maritime Association for the upgrades to the T/V State of Maine. The ship is operated by the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine.
Robert Kunkle, Vice President for Business Development with Seacoast, commented that: “we continue to provide overall value to the MARAD fleet and the associated training ships critical to developing a competent and growing labor resource for our merchant marine.”
Pascagoula, Mississippi, March 2007: VT Halter Marine, Inc. has awarded Seacoast Electronics, Inc. the contract for the integrated bridge design and construction, internal and external communications and scientific equipment for the NOAA SWATH vessel under construction. This package is similar to the NOAA FRV 40 fishing research ships currently under contract with Seacoast Electronics, Inc.
NOAA SWATH was contracted for construction to VT Halter Marine, Inc. in September 2007, by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The primary mission of the SWATH CMV will be to map the full seafloor in coastal areas for the nation’s nautical charts.
Michael Pinkham, Seacoast’s Vice President in the Gulf Coast region, noted: “We are pleased to continue our longstanding business relationships with VT Halter and NOAA…..we also credit our vendor alliance with Sperry Marine. Together with VT Halter we represent the best overall value available to the government.”
Port Fouchon, Louisiana, March 8, 2007: Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. (HOS) provides offshore supply vessels (OSV’S) to customers in the offshore shipping industry, primarily the United States, Gulf of Mexico, and in select international markets. Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. is also a major transporter of petroleum products through its tugs and tank barge segment serving the energy industry, primarily in the northeastern United States and Puerto Rico. With its continued growth and expansion, Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. has awarded a contract for integrated bridge console, design and construction on 13 energy service vessels, to Seacoast Electronics, Inc.
With the addition of this multi-vessel indenture, Seacoast Electronics, Inc. maintains its focus on the sale, integration, installation, training and maintenance of marine technology systems for today’s waterborne commerce and defense on a global scale.
