Elgin Brown & Hamer Annouces Opening of a New Yard in Namibia

A complete source for ship repair

Namdock was acquired through a joint venture between the ship repair company, Elgin Brown & Hamer Namibia (PTY) Ltd., and Namport, Namibian Ports Authority.

With a massive 11,500 ton floating dock at the port of Walvis Bay, Namdock has placed Namibia on the world map as a location where oil tankers and ships can be repaired.

Namdock comprises a concrete Pontoon flanked by two (2) steel walls and has the capacity to lift vessels of up to 160 meters long and 23.5 meters wide, and a weight of up to 8,500 tons. It has the same advanced multiple lifting system that was developed by Elgin for Eldock.

The EBH Group operates from Durban, East London, Cape Town, & Walvis Bay to provide the international shipping industry with a full house capacity in all aspects of ship repair. This includes the provisions of riding crews to vessels world wide. The group repairs about 400 vessels each year, more than 80 of them are docked.
