China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Company Limited (CMHI) was established in 1989 and is located in Shekou, Shenzhen, China. CMHI is wholly owned by China Merchants Group Hong Kong. CMHI has experience in several types of steel structure and major port equipment constructions. In addition, CMHI has experience in design, manufacturing, installing and maintenance service of machines.
China Merchants Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (CMHI) is a separate company located in the same facility as sister company Yiulian Dockyards (Shekou). CMHI's focus is on offshore repair and new building, steel structural design, fabrication and erection, engineering vessel new building, noise barriers, spiral pipe products and harbor handling equipment. CMHI repair shops are complete, but the new construction shops are not completed. They will be completed by the end of the year. They have barrack housing for 10,000 employees and are currently manned at that level.
China Merchants Heavy Industry is currently and will be working on some new construction projects for this year and next. They have a wide range of new construction capabilities from lift boats to drilling platforms.
Some of CMHI’s current new construction projects include:
- 2 lift-boats, 1- 350 feet drilling unit (China Oilfield Services Limited)
- 3 work over support barges for China Oilfield Services Limited
- 1- 4500m3/h self-propelled cutter suction dredge for CCCC Tianjin Dredging Company, Limited
- 2 self-elevation accommodation & drilling platforms for CNOOC Oil Base Group
