Yiulian Dockyards (Shekou) Limited has completed the move from Shenzhen to Mazhou Island. Yiulian has experience in conversions of singe to double hull oil tankers, bulk replacement of steel plates, machinery maintenance and projects, hull damage repairs, special coatings and offshore engineering.
In addition, they have completed a large conversion project on the Bibby Renaissance from a barge to a botel. The Bibby Renaissance project included fabrication of a new section – 5.5m wide, accommodation conversion and fabrication, power station, sea and fresh water system, exhaust piping system, automatic alarm system, and automatic control system renewal, etc.
Yiulian covers an area of 630,000m2 of land and has 4 docks:
- Yiulian Dock 4: 200m x 32m
- Yiulian Dock 3: 250m x 36m
- Yiulian Dock 2: 360m x 67m
- Yiulian Dock 1: 400m x 83m
Yiulian is one of the ten largest ship-repair yards in China. The yard is part of Shenzhen’s economic zone located 100 yards off the city of Shenzhen. Yiulian has their own ferry service that travels from the mainland and is only a few minutes ride. They also have hotel facilities on the Island, but most stay on the mainland. Hong Kong Air has direct ferries to Shenzhen with an approximate 30-45 minute ride at the mouth
