Western Ship Repair has not only completed the ice-class passenger ferry for Aland Islands Government, they have also completed a conversion from a container carrier to a krill processing factory. The krill factory vessel, named the Thorshovdi, is the largest fishing vessel in Norway.

Western Shiprepair has 5 floating docks with 4,500 to 27,000 ton lift capacity and quays fully equipped with electricity, oxygen, gas, connections for telephones, cranes, winches of 30 to 100 ton capacity and fresh water.
Western Shiprepair, along with experts, placed a 3000 ton transformer platform onto a barge, the Tow III. This will transform the alternating electric current, produced by windmill power in the open sea, to a constant electric current and will transmit it to the power grid systems. The transformer platform will be transported to Harland and Wolff Company in Ireland where it will be joined with support construction. The lower portion of the platform will be 60m x 60m and the overall height will be 76m and weighing 7500 tons.
The supporting structures of the energy transformer platform will be mounted on the seabed, with a special hydraulic system, it will raise the superstructure on four poles above the water. The 400 megawatt electric current produced by the North Sea wind farm, will be sent to the transformer platform by sea cables and alternating electric current is transferred into constant electric current and sent to the E. ON Netz GmbH electrical grid system.
